Taiwan CTCI Receives Dual Awards from Taipower on Eco-friendly Construction Site

TAIPEI, December 29, 2023- CTCI Corporation, Taiwan’s leading engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) company announced today that it was honored to receive multiple Outstanding Green & Eco-Friendly Site Evaluation Awards from Taiwan Power Company (Taipower) for the contracted projects across Taiwan, as CTCI continued to strive for a sustainable, eco-friendly goal on all of its projects. The Kaohsiung Hsinta Combined Cycle Power Plant Project received a Distinction Award, while the Taichung Coal Handling System Improvement Project, which is by far a three-time consecutive award winner, was given an Excellence Award this year. Chairman of CTCI Corp. Michael Yang received the awards from Taipower President Yao-Ting Wang on behalf of the company. The Outstanding Green & Eco-Friendly Site Evaluation Award is Taipower’s program to award outstanding construction teams on their ecological efforts, while promoting sustainable construction site as well as eco-friendly actions. 

Chairman Young attributed this award to Taipower’s endeavor on advocating sustainable construction. He also thanked the project team members and the subcontractors for a smooth teamwork as well as a sole commitment on the sustainable goal. During the execution on projects, CTCI made sure that each phase complied with the latest environmental regulations, and applied multiple eco-friendly methods, including a full dust-coverage on bare construction site for dust control; implementation of sediment basin and water reuse wheel wash with water recycling tank that utilize reusable water resources such as rainwater, wastewater, and surface runoff, reducing a recognizable amount of water; paving alternative routes for construction to relieve the traffic congestion caused by construction. Other sustainable measures taken by CTCI include implementation of a full hoard board for its temporary fencing that acts as an effective way to reduce noise from the construction site, and promote installation of particulate filters on construction machinery to lower fume emission.
