Engineering
Our engineering advantage lies in our deep well of technical experience, and a forward-thinking approach to knowledge sharing and skills development. Engineering is the lifeblood of CTCI and has been the core of the company since its founding in 1979. Over the years, we have built up unparalleled experience and proficiency in a wide range of fields and disciplines. As such, we are proud to say we offer the widest range of optimized engineering services on the global market.
Human capital, capital humans
CTCI engineers are among the best trained and most highly motivated in the industry. We constantly experiment with new technical skills and tools, and find independent solutions to the challenges we encounter. Our extensive on-the-job experience allows us to draw on firsthand knowledge to develop technologies and processes that improve the reliability and efficiency of our work. Our engineers are:
- Familiar with the latest international engineering practices, design codes and standards
- Adept at using 3D, 4D and XD (3D plus time/schedule and extra information) design software
- Equipped with the most advanced CAD/CAE systems and modern computer facilities
- Capable of balancing cost and quality considerations with specific project requirements and client preferences
Engineering design
In keeping with our belief that the highest cost and efficiency savings can be made via considered planning at the beginning of a project, CTCI pays particular attention to its engineering design by conducting thorough checks at every stage of the engineering process. These ensure our engineering work meets the necessary codes, standard and specifications, and is in line with local practices and client expectations:
- Verification of design input
- Three-stage design reviews
- Independent design verification
- Inter-discipline squad checks
- Approval and client review
- Final design validation
Engineering Knowledge Management (KM) System
Since 2011, CTCI has been operating an upgraded engineering KM System that aims to give every one of our engineers access to the organization’s massive collective store of knowledge and experience wherever in the world they might be operating. The CTCI KM System is comprised of five modules:
- Document management system - Organizes documents hierarchically and systemically for convenient access
- Core competence system - Lists experts according to their area of expertise to enable staff to connect with advisors as fast as possible. Includes SOS function to call in experts from different fields
- Knowledge community - Comprised of discussion groups that form to improve problem-solving, creativity and innovation, as well as share updates and information
- Social network - A searchable list of personnel, projects and related training
- Search engine - Cross-field and cross-system search by keyword
