Taiwan Net Zero Engineering in Prospect: CTCI Organizes the 2022 Taiwan Sustainability Engineering Symposium

TAIPEI, December 9, 2022— CTCI, the largest global engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) group in Taiwan and one of the top 100 engineering firms globally, co-organizes the “2022 Taiwan Sustainability Engineering Symposium” with CTCI Education Foundation (CTCI EF) today at GIS MOTC Convention Center.

Participated by around 200 engineering experts, industry leaders, and engineers, the symposium allows engineering professionals to engage in a meaningful exchange of ideas and discussions on the topics of sustainable development and net zero emissions of the engineering industry.
Composed of two half-day sessions, the symposium this year focused discussions on “net zero emissions,” hoping to enhance the industry’s awareness and emphasis on ESG. In the morning session, experts in the field and CTCI top managers are invited to share insights on “green engineering,” “sustainable governance,” and “supply chain decarbonization.” CTCI also shared its green engineering track records and performance. The afternoon session was conducted in a world café fashion. Topics for discussion covers nine major areas: green engineering, water resources, resource cycling, the environment, society, governance (ESG), chemical engineering, electronics engineering, and construction engineering.
TC Li, Vice President at CTCI’s Group Shared Services, stated that “To realize net zero carbon emission by 2050 is now a global consensus, and a common goal for government entities and businesses. We at CTCI hope that our sharing in green engineering and circular economy practices may inspire the industry to work in partnership to realize this important mission.”
Eugene Chien, CTCI EF Chairman, added “Following the successful experience from last year, this symposium aims to invite other engineering professionals to reach a consensus through discussions, and contribute to everlasting development of the industry as a whole.”
CTCI has been selected as constituent of DJSI Emerging Markets Indices for 8 consecutive years (and the most sustainable enterprise in the engineering & construction category in 2022), continuously honored with Taiwan Corporate Sustainability Awards’ Top Ten Domestic Corporate Award for six straight years, and has received accolades such as grade A for Morgan Stanley Capital International’s (MSCI) ESG Rating, B score (Management level) from Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), and CommonWealth Magazine’s Excellence in Corporate Social Responsibility Award. CTCI joined SBTi (Science Based Targets initiative), pledging to set goals aligned with limiting global temperature rise to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels. It is also a member of Taiwan Alliance for Net Zero Emission and Association of Taiwan Net Zero Emissions to support global carbon reduction action, committed to achieving net zero emission target for its office areas in 2030 and to include all project sites in 2050.
Committed to realizing its ESG vision of being “A Guardian of Sustainable Earth,” CTCI will continue to make a positive impact in the ESG aspects, facilitating the goal of delivering net zero EPC projects by joining hands with global supply chain partners, for a more sustainable engineering industry.
