China CTCI Beijing Completes Ascend’s Integrated Chemical Plant in China

LIANYUNGANG, October 23, 2024- CTCI Beijing, an affiliate of CTCI Group, has completed the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) project of Ascend’s integrated 200,000 metric-ton-per-annum hexamethylene diamine (HMD) and specialty chemicals plant in Lianyungang, China, which will help boost Ascend’s global HMD production by 50%. A grand opening ceremony was held on October 23 in celebration of the event, attended by the Chairman of CTCI Beijing Tieshi Zhang and top executives.



US-based Ascend is a world-leading provider of polyamide resins, fibers, engineering plastics, and specialty chemicals. Lianyungang plant, which marks as Ascend’s biggest investment project overseas, will soon produce HMD and specialty chemicals to supply Ascend’s global polyamide production. 



The EPC contract, signed in 2022, was a continuation of the successful front-end engineering and design (FEED) executed by CTCI Beijing beginning in 2021. Over the past four years, CTCI Beijing worked closely with Ascend to overcome project challenges, living up to the ethos “One Team. One Spirit. One Goal.” Notably, the project set a safety record of 3 million work hours with no lost time injury, and strictly followed intellectual property protection requirements to keep all project data safe and intact.
