Taiwan A Guardian of Sustainable Earth, CTCI Joins Hands with Carrefour to Support World Food Day 2023

Taipei, October 13, 2023 - CTCI, in collaboration with Carrefour, is actively participating in the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization's initiative for World Food Day 2023, under the theme "Leave No One Behind." Ms. Joanne Ho, Chief Sustainability Officer of CTCI, attended a press conference on October 12 to introduce their joint online charity platform project with Carrefour. Through this platform, employees from CTCI, regardless of their location, can engage in charitable activities online, making their generosity borderless. The platform will also collaborate with Tzu Chi Charity Foundation to provide disaster relief when needed, ensuring that aid reaches various parts of the world.

Ms. Joanne Ho, Chief Sustainability Officer of CTCI, highlighted that since 2020, CTCI became the first publicly traded company in Taiwan to support Carrefour's Food Bank by setting up food collection stations within the company for employees to donate food items. This initiative aims to continue CTCI's commitment to a greener and more sustainable lifestyle, encouraging employees to contribute to sustainability through their consumption habits and support not only their families but also their communities, thus promoting a more sustainable business approach. Recognizing the significance of Carrefour's mission and efforts, CTCI proposed to expand their collaboration from physical
donations to an online charity platform, allowing employees worldwide to participate. The platform's donations will focus on products with a significant social impact ("i-products"), enabling CTCI to extend its social influence to every corner. The platform is expected to launch in December, making CTCI the first company in Taiwan to extend its physical donations to an online platform.
CTCI identifies itself as a "Guardian of Sustainable Earth" by aligning corporate operations with ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) sustainability goals. The company initiated its first sustainability report back in 2008. In recent years, following global trends towards achieving net-zero emissions, CTCI is committed to protecting Earth's sustainability with a core focus on "green engineering" while continuing to deepen its social responsibility efforts. The company's social sustainability initiatives include employee participation in stock trusts with a 50% bonus, 100% pandemic insurance, restricted stock awards, and the establishment of "CTCI University" with six major colleges, along with welfare programs that exceed legal requirements. CTCI also actively supports and collaborates with various charitable organizations, fostering a culture of sustainability. These remarkable sustainability achievements have earned CTCI external recognition, including eight consecutive years of being listed in the DJSI (Dow Jones Sustainability Index) Emerging Markets Component Stocks, achieving the highest honor of being in the top 1% in the S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook, topping the global construction and engineering industry. CTCI has consecutively won the TCSA (Taiwan Corporate Sustainability Awards) Top 10 Domestic Companies Sustainability Model Award for six years, consistently ranking in the top 5% of the Corporate Governance Evaluation by the Financial Supervisory Commission for eight times, and receiving awards such as the top prize in the CSR & ESG Award under Service Industry Category by Global Views Monthly, Excellence in Corporate Social Responsibility Award by CommonWealth Magazine, "Parenting-Friendly Workplace Award by CommonWealth Education Media and Publishing, and "Diversity for Better Tomorrow Awards" for DEI (diversity, equity, and inclusion) performance, among others. CTCI commits to continuing to uphold its brand spirit as being "The Most Reliable Global Engineering Services Provider" and leveraging its maximum impact in the field of sustainable engineering to drive the world towards a better future.
