Taiwan CTCI Group Chairman Emeritus John Yu Receives Special Engineering Contribution Award for His Half-Century Professional Dedication and Leadership in Advancing CTCI’s Global Status
TAIPEI, October 30, 2026- Today CTCI Group Chairman Emeritus John Yu received the Special Engineering Contribution Award from the Chinese Institute of Civil and Hydraulic Engineering. The award is the top honor representing Mr. Yu’s outstanding achievement in championing technological innovation, supporting the industry’s sustainable transition, and raising the profile of Taiwan. Mr. Yu devoted more than 50 years to the engineering career—his lifelong calling—during which he transformed CTCI from a local small business to become the premier engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services provider in Taiwan and among the world’s top 100 engineering firms. Under his helm, CTCI delivered many major infrastructure projects.
In accepting the award, Group Chairman Emeritus Yu said: “None of the grand infrastructure could have been completed without the silent toil and long-term dedication of countless engineers. I am extremely honored to have had the opportunity to grow along with CTCI and witnessed firsthand how engineering powered the development of our nation. In the age of AI and ESG, CTCI shall continue to innovate and change. We shall increasingly deploy digital applications and push for net zero emissions, playing a role in global sustainable development. The glory of this award belongs to CTCI. I thank the 8,000 colleagues worldwide for your dedication. It is only because I stand on the shoulder of a giant called CTCI that I could be recognized and seen.”
Under Mr. Yu’s guidance, CTCI has increased its global presence, establishing more than 50 offices in around 10 countries, serving clients across the environmental, refinery, petrochemical, LNG terminal, transportation, and industrial sectors. In recent years, CTCI rode the trend of high-tech and expanded its high-tech facility business. It has also actively deployed AI and digital tech for innovation, and worked with clients and supply chain partners to advance green engineering that brings both environmental and financial benefits. CTCI continued to develop engineering talents for the company and for the society through its corporate digital learning platform CTCI University, publicly accessible platform CTCI Learning, and CTCI Education Foundation, fostering professional education and ties between the industry and academia.
The Special Engineering Contribution Award is a recognition of Mr. Yu’s half-century commitment and leadership. With extensive understanding of practical engineering and professionalism in corporate management—rooted in his engineering expertise—he has helped advance CTCI’s global status and contributed to the long-term development of Taiwanese engineering industry. The award is truly deserved.
