Malaysia CTCI, a Guardian of Sustainable Earth, Wins Asia Responsible Enterprise Award for Three Consecutive Years
KUALA LUMPUR, June 26, 2026- CTCI Group, a Guardian of Sustainable Earth, announced today that it has won the Asia Responsible Enterprise Award (AREA) in the Corporate Sustainability Reporting category for the third consecutive year. The award recognizes its industry-leading green engineering capabilities and transparent, reliable information disclosure. Ming-Shyan Lee, CEO of the Group Engineering Business and Joanne Ho, Chief Sustainability Officer, jointly represented CTCI Group to accept the award at today’s ceremony in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Organized by Enterprise Asia, AREA aims to commend companies that drive change and create a sustainable impact. CEO Lee stated that as the leading engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) service provider in Taiwan, CTCI is committed to advancing sustainability through its engineering expertise. In 2008, it became the first engineering company in Taiwan to disclose non-financial information by publishing a corporate social responsibility report. CTCI is deeply aware that sustainability is an irreversible trend and an essential industry requirement. Consequently, CTCI actively innovates its engineering technologies to help the broader industry become greener, while collaborating with global partners on net-zero emission initiatives to protect the planet with shared expertise.
In terms of corporate governance, guided by its core “ESG x AI Dual Engines” strategy, CTCI seeks to enhance its competitiveness and resilience against sustainability risks by actively fostering a corporate culture where all members practice sustainability. An institutionalized mechanism—which began with company-wide ESG implementation in 2018—is in place to ensure sustainability is embedded into daily operations. Examples include the ESG incentives, the sustainability ambassadors, sustainability literacy surveys, the Environment Month activities, and mandatory “ESG x AI Moment” knowledge-sharing sessions at the start of every meeting. These measures have driven widespread employee participation. Moreover, ESG goals have been incorporated into key performance indicators, incentivizing engineering teams to introduce greener designs, smarter technologies, and lower-carbon construction methods. This has enabled CTCI to build core expertise that seamlessly integrates sustainability and AI.
In terms of environmental stewardship, CTCI is driving change within the industry through its core solution: innovative green engineering that combines intelligent features and green energy. As the market leader in power plant and LNG terminal construction in Taiwan, CTCI is carrying out multiple energy infrastructure projects, including the EPC contracts for the Kuo-Kuang and Tunghsiao Phase 2 Power Plants, as well as the Kaohsiung Intercontinental and Formosa Petrochemical Corp. LNG Terminals. CTCI further addresses the critical pain point in AI development—the need for stable, low-carbon electricity—through an integrated offering of wind energy, energy storage, and smart grid solutions.
In advanced technology facility construction, CTCI continues to serve the semiconductor industry. To help fast-track a greener market position for Taiwan’s electronic manufacturers, CTCI recently joined an initiative to develop sustainable global industrial clusters collectively named “TEEMA Science Park,” in alignment with net-zero emissions goals. Other notable examples in environmental stewardship include constructing the Southern Taiwan Science Park Water Reclamation Plant and the Hsinchu Seawater Desalination Plant, as well as participating in Taiwan’s first carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS) project. These projects have enhanced clients’ capabilities to manage water and carbon resources, contributing to the industry’s long-term development and sustainable transformation.
In terms of social engagement, CTCI is more than an employer committed to building a happy workplace; it is also a talent incubator and a promoter of social cohesion. Its digital employee learning platform, CTCI University, now includes over 1,400 courses spanning six colleges and 23 professional disciplines. To enhance its employees’ competitiveness in sustainability, CTCI University has introduced courses on net-zero emissions, biodiversity, the circular economy, and social impact. In collaboration with the CTCI Education Foundation, CTCI has also opened free access to its knowledge base for the general public via the “CTCI Learning” platform, further accelerating talent incubation.
Leveraging its engineering expertise, CTCI contributes to post-disaster reconstruction and supports disadvantaged groups. CTCI also mobilizes its affiliated companies worldwide to support healthcare, education, and community care, extending its positive social influence to people and places in need.
Thanks to its outstanding achievement in sustainability, CTCI has garnered global recognition. It has been selected as a component of the Dow Jones Best-in-Class Emerging Markets Index for 11 consecutive years. It has received the top ESG score among global construction and engineering companies for four consecutive years, and was honored as a Top 1% performer in the S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook. It also achieved A-list status in CDP’s “climate change” and “supply chain engagement” categories. Furthermore, for nine consecutive years, CTCI has won Taiwan’s Top 10 Sustainable Service Businesses Award, TCSA, and it remains a recipient of Global Views ESG Corporate Sustainability Award as well as Commonwealth Magazine Excellence in Corporate Social Responsibility Award.
Looking forward, CTCI will continue to uphold its brand ethos, “Most Reliable,” and realize its ESG vision as a “Guardian of Sustainable Earth.”
