Taiwan Commonwealth CSR Award Winner ECOVE Lauded for Contribution to Circular Economy
TAIPEI, November 7, 2025- ECOVE, a CTCI Group company committed to sustainable resource cycling services, has been awarded third place of Excellence in Corporate Social Responsibility Award (Mid-size corporations) this year by Taiwan’s Commonwealth Magazine for outstanding contribution to circular economy. ECOVE President Eric Tiao accepted the award on behalf of the company at the awards ceremony today.
According to Tiao, ECOVE contributes to the circular economy through its primary business lines—energy from waste, resource cycling and recovery, renewable energy, and high-tech/infrastructural electromechanical O&M. Sustainability has become an inseparable part of the company. Its staff is dedicated to resource cycling, and as its business grows, ECOVE becomes more influential in terms of ESG.
Governance-wise, ECOVE closely aligns its operations and business growth with sustainability goals. Sustainability performance of its directors and top executives is linked to their KPIs. ECOVE’s high-quality sustainable management has driven steady growth and brought recognitions worldwide. It is a top 5% best-performing OTC company according to Taiwan Financial Supervisory Commission’s corporate governance evaluation. It has also been included as an S&P Global’s Sustainability Yearbook member this year and recognized as an Industry Mover—the first environmental services provider from Taiwan to receive such recognition.
Environment-wise, ECOVE continues to enhance its technical capability and integration to counter climate risks and capture climate opportunities. Examples include resource/energy recovery from waste, climate adaptation, and introduction of new generation incineration technologies. ECOVE also leverages the EPC power of parent group CTCI to participate in major infrastructural projects such as EfW plants, water reclamation plants, and desalination plants. Taoyuan Biomass Energy Center, Chiayi Green Energy Sustainable Circulation Center, Hsinchu Seawater Desalination Plant, and TSMC Southern Taiwan Science Park Water Reclamation Plant are among the notable examples.
ECOVE is also a strong supporter for environmental education and biodiversity protection. For seven years, staff from the EfW plants that ECOVE operates has been running an environmental education program called “One Factory, One Footprint” at elementary schools. Since 2024, ECOVE has worked with CTCI Corp. and a conservation group to conduct field surveys and improve the habitat of Purple Crow Butterflies, a precious local species. At EfW plant where the butterflies pass by, people can come and learn more about the creature at the butterfly theme room, or sign up for a tour. That way, ECOVE helps foster awareness on ecology and the importance of conservation, contributing to the coprosperity of businesses and nature.
As for the social aspect, ECOVE strives to create a safe and friendly workplace for its employees. For twenty years the company has been tracking the dioxin concentration levels in the bloodstream of staff who work at EfW plants, something that no other peer companies have done. Results not only showed that the staff’s dioxin levels are lower than the average level found among Taiwanese people, but are also lower than the level as recommended by the World Health Organization. This indicates ECOVE’s serious commitment to employee health and occupational safety. ECOVE also supports employees in balancing their work and family commitments by offering a myriad of better-than-regulation and family-friendly policies, such as extended maternity leave, extended paternity leave, and a new type of leave called well-being care leave.
Looking forward, ECOVE will uphold the principle “Every Resource Counts” and guide the entire industry toward a sustainable future.
