Thailand CTCI Group Chairman John T. Yu Awarded FEIAP Engineer of the Year and Conferred Honorary Fellow

Bangkok, July 25, 2025- CTCI is pleased to announce that its Group Chairman John T. Yu was awarded today the FEIAP Engineer of the Year 2025 and conferred honorary fellow by the Federation of Engineering Institutions of Asia and the Pacific (FEIAP) at the 33rd General Assembly and Awards Ceremony, which took place in Bangkok, Thailand.

The award and honor are a recognition of Group Chairman Yu’s outstanding leadership and contribution to the engineering industry, which saw CTCI being transformed from a local company to a globalized engineering, procurement, and construction Group. Under his helm, CTCI pursued globalization, innovation, and sustainability, keeping in pace with the times. Thanks to his proactive effort, businesses in the engineering sector in Taiwan join the cause to support sustainability.

In his awards acceptance speech, Group Chairman Yu humbly mentioned that the honor belongs to the entire Taiwanese engineering industry. He expressed gratitude to the long-term, collaborative support offered by the industry peers and called on engineering companies to join forces and use wisdom to turn the tide against challenges that the world is now facing, including climate change, limited resources, and high tariffs, so that a brighter and more sustainable future could become possible.

Group Chairman Yu was nominated by the Chinese Institute of Engineers, one of the most prominent engineering institutions in Taiwan, for the FEIAP Engineer of the Year Award. Being one of Asia Pacific’s top engineering organizations comprised of institution members from 23 economies, FEIAP has a mission to bring progress and prosperity to the world through advanced engineering.

Group Chairman Yu’s engineering career spanned over five decades, rising through the ranks at CTCI. His leadership has been instrumental in shaping CTCI. Today, CTCI is a leading engineering brand from Taiwan that is not only among the world’s top 100, but also known for its commitment in making engineering “greener”—through green technology, green contracting, and green investment. It is participating in, as well as creating green projects around the world, and, with the goal of net zero in mind, playing an active role in reducing its greenhouse gas emissions. Its continued superior environmental, social, and governance achievements are the reasons why it has been included as a constituent of the Dow Jones Best-in-Class Emerging Markets Index for ten years in a row, awarded top 1% honor in the S&P Global’s Sustainability Yearbook for three years—the sole engineering company in the world with such honor—and awarded Taiwan's Top 10 Sustainable Service Businesses Award for eight years.

Given his accomplishments, the FEIAP Engineer of the Year Award and Honorary Fellow that the Group Chairman received are well deserved.
