CTCI Wins Public Construction Golden Quality Award, Excellence Level, for Building a Safe Portal Community
TAIPEI, December 31, 2024—CTCI is proud to announce that its subsidiary, CTCI Machinery Corp. (MAC), has been honored with the Public Construction Commission (PCC)’s 24th Public Construction Golden Quality Award. This prestigious recognition, the highest accolade in public construction in Taiwan, was awarded for the Pigging station, Metering station and Utility system for Zone 1 of EPC Project of Talin Petrochemical Storage and Pipeline Center. CTCI MAC received excellence-level awards in both the facility design and constructor categories. Yun-Peng Tan, Chairman of CTCI MAC, accepted the commendation on behalf of the company during the ceremony held on December 27.
Located in Kaohsiung’s Xiaogang District, this project is a key component of the Port of Kaohsiung Intercontinental Container Center Investment Project. CTCI MAC was tasked with the engineering, procurement, and construction of the pigging and metering station, freshwater fire extinguishing system, main pipe rack and pipeline, as well as three buildings in Zone One. Notably, the pigging and metering station featured the highest number of pipelines ever assembled in a single project in Taiwan, setting a new national record.
CTCI MAC leveraged its extensive engineering expertise and project management capabilities to achieve mechanical completion on time and to the highest standards. Beyond delivering significant energy savings and carbon emission reductions, CTCI MAC ensured a stable power supply to meet the tank farm's demands. The project also featured a comprehensive fire protection plan to enhance oil tank safety and addressed safety concerns related to underground petrochemical pipelines running throughout the city.
Prioritizing quality and safety, CTCI MAC achieved mechanical completion with an impressive total of two million safe work hours. The project featured technical highlights, including the installation of pin piles in reclaimed land to stabilize the ground structure, designed to withstand seismic activity up to an intensity of 6. During the design phase, safety considerations included planning the layout for gas detectors and incorporating a gas-liquid separation tank to prevent explosions. In the construction phase, a modular precast method was used for the reinforced steel structure to minimize elevated work risks. This approach also maximized the use of precast electrical manholes, reducing excavation risks and significantly shortening on-site work time. Additionally, CTCI MAC addressed labor shortages by optimizing workflows and improving processes, successfully completing the circular powering a month and a half ahead of schedule.
CTCI MAC is dedicated to promoting sustainability through its expertise in "Green Engineering." The company focuses on ecological preservation while achieving remarkable improvements in energy efficiency and carbon reduction. It uses low-noise excavators and eco-friendly construction methods to minimize environmental impact. Landscaping is designed with native coastal plants, creating a welcoming habitat for local wildlife. By incorporating energy-efficient equipment and materials, the construction phase reduced carbon emissions by an amount equivalent to 27.6 Daan Forest Parks. During operations, annual carbon emissions are reduced by the equivalent of 1.9 Daan Forest Parks, alongside annual electricity savings of NT$4.54 million.
CTCI MAC is committed to partnering with clients worldwide to promote "Green Engineering," staying true to its brand spirit of "Most Reliable." This dedication reinforces the CTCI brand as a symbol of reliability and sustainability!
