Taiwan Guardian of Sustainable Earth: CTCI Won the Top Gold Award of 2024 Taiwan Biodiversity Awards
Taipei, July 18, 2024- The honor list of 2024 Taiwan Biodiversity Awards organized by Taiwan Institute for Sustainable Energy (TAISE) has been announced. CTCI won the top gold award for its exceptional performance in safeguarding the ecosystem through its engineering expertise, being the only recognized enterprise in the engineering industry. The awards ceremony was held on July 16 attended by CTCI President Ming-Shyan Lee to receive the honor, with Joanne Ho, Chief Sustainability Officer of CTCI, being invited to deliver a speech themed on “CTCI biodiversity project - Nature Vitality with Green Water” to share the Group’s concrete actions to safeguard biodiversity in the forum.
CTCI has been committed to realizing sustainability through its core engineering expertise. As biodiversity conservation represents an important part to achieve Earth sustainability, in addition to cooperate with partners to fulfill net zero and actively conserve the ecosystem, CTCI also helps lower environmental impacts through the four conservation strategies: avoid, minimize, mitigate, and compensate at every stage of the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) process.
As for the water shortage crisis, with over 40 years of experience in the field of water resources, CTCI has initiated “CTCI biodiversity project - Nature Vitality with Green Water”, developing various water resources by promoting water reclamation and seawater desalination plants to ensure sustainable water resources and minimize the impact of climate change on biodiversity. In addition to implement engineering projects, CTCI also promotes ecological education with local groups in its operating sites to increase social influence, working with supply chain partners and the public to conduct ecological surveys and remove invasive species in local rivers and wetlands. Together, we make contributions to biodiversity conservation as civil scientists.
CTCI has been actively supporting biodiversity conservation initiatives. In response to the global trend of biodiversity development, CTCI not only joined Business For Nature’s Call to Action, but became one of the early adopters to participate in the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD). In the future, with the “most reliable” brand spirit, CTCI is committed to fulfilling its ESG vision of being the “Guardian of Sustainable Earth”, continuing to make contributions to biodiversity and environmental protection that leads to harmony between humans and nature.
