Taiwan CTCI Clinches Taichung Metro Blue Line E&M Project Through Strategic Global Alliance
TAIPEI, Apr. 14, 2025 – CTCI Corporation, Taiwan's leading provider of engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services, has leveraged its extensive experience in MRT Electric and Mechanic(E&M) systems to form a joint venture with Singapore-based ST Engineering Urban Solutions Ltd., France-based Alstom Transport S.A., and Korea-based Hyundai Rotem Company. Together, the consortium has secured the contract for the “Taichung MRT Blue Line BM01 Turnkey Project for E&M Systems, Depot, and Main Substation.” The total contract value amounts to NT$60.79 billion, with CTCI responsible for constructing the primary power supply system. The project is slated for completion in 2034 and is expected to enhance the cohesion of the Taichung MRT network while promoting green transportation and supporting sustainable urban development.
“We appreciate the trust placed in us by the Rapid Transit System Bureau of the Taichung City Government,” said CTCI Chairman Michael Yang. “CTCI has established a strong track record of collaboration with Alstom and ST Engineering Urban Solutions through previous metro projects in both Taipei and Taichung, while Hyundai Rotem has served as a key supplier of metro cars to Taiwan in recent years. With our extensive experience in metro E&Msystems and our proven performance on Taichung’s first metro line—the Green Line (Wurih-Wenxin-Beitun)—we are confident that, through close collaboration with this international team, we will deliver the project on time and to the highest standards, making a meaningful contribution to the continued development of Taichung’s transportation infrastructure.”
