Taiwan A Guardian of Sustainable Earth: CTCI Group Partners with Beautiful Waterways Association to Launch Wufengang Creek Conservation and Coexistence Initiative

TAIPEI, September 24, 2026- CTCI Group is committed to safeguarding the sustainability of the planet and biodiversity through its engineering expertise. To protect Wufengang Creek, located near CTCI Group's Second Headquarters and recognized by the Forestry and Nature Conservation Agency as one of Taiwan's first “Conservation Coexistence Areas,” CTCI Group joined hands with the Beautiful Waterways Association to launch the Wufengang Creek Conservation and Coexistence Initiative on September 23. The launch ceremony, titled “Together for Beautiful Waterways, Coexisting for Sustainability – Wufengang Creek Conservation and Coexistence Initiative Launch Ceremony and Corporate Sustainability Exchange,” was also held on the same day. The initiative aims to bring together stakeholders from various sectors to jointly protect this precious waterway, known as the “blue-green gem” of Taipei City, while facilitating in-depth exchanges on nature conservation, biodiversity, and the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD).

The event was attended by Yun-Chung Lee, Chief Secretary of the Forestry and Nature Conservation Agency, Ministry of Agriculture; Tsu-Hsien Chao, Director of the Northern Branch of the National Property Administration, Ministry of Finance; CTCI's supply chain partners; and representatives of companies located in the Northern Shilin Science and Technology Park. Through this five-year Conservation and Coexistence Initiative, CTCI will work with the Beautiful Waterways Association and corporate partners to promote nature observation, environmental stewardship, volunteer participation, and biodiversity conservation actions, transforming corporate engagement into a sustained force for nature conservation. During the event, the Beautiful Waterways Association also presented a certificate of appreciation to CTCI Group in recognition of its long-standing contributions through professional expertise, resources, and volunteer participation.
T.C. Li, CEO of CTCI Group Shared Services, said, “As a local company in the Northern Shilin Science and Technology Park, CTCI has a deep connection with water. We have extensive experience and proven track records in water-related fields, including domestic wastewater, industrial wastewater, reclaimed water, and seawater desalination. Both of our Group headquarters are also located near waterways, with the Shuangxi River and Wufengang Creek near our Second Headquarters and the Huang Creek near our First Headquarters. CTCI has long been committed to safeguarding the sustainability of the planet through our engineering expertise. In addition to implementing environmentally friendly green engineering practices in project execution, we continue to work with local organizations at our operating locations worldwide to protect ecosystems.”
In line with the Group's commitment to nature conservation, Joanne Ho, Chief Sustainability Officer of CTCI Group, further shared CTCI's experience in fostering coexistence between business and nature. Using the conservation of the purple crow butterfly and Wufengang Creek as examples, she explained how CTCI protects biodiversity across its operating locations and translates international nature-related frameworks into actionable measures that businesses can implement, creating sustainable value for both business and the environment through concrete actions.
To align with international trends related to TNFD, the exchange session featured Yuan-Chun Wang, Section Chief of the Forestry and Nature Conservation Agency, Ministry of Agriculture, who introduced the “Corporate Nature-Positive Action Pathway – TNFD Implementation Guidelines,” explaining how companies can implement nature-related financial disclosures. Shang-Hung Tsai, Founding Chairman of the Beautiful Waterways Association, provided an in-depth introduction to the ecological value of Wufengang Creek. The Association subsequently led participants on a “Wufengang Creek Guided Walk,” offering a firsthand experience of the waterway, which retains natural soil embankments and features rich riverside landscapes and greenery that contribute to urban environmental regulation.
In response to the challenges of environmental change, CTCI is not only advancing toward its 2045 net-zero emissions target, but is also actively responding to international trends by becoming one of the early adopters of TNFD and systematically assessing the impacts of its operations and supply chain on nature. Looking ahead, CTCI will continue to leverage its core engineering expertise to deepen its efforts in green engineering and biodiversity conservation, fulfilling its steadfast commitment as a “Guardian of Sustainable Earth.”
