Guardian of Sustainable Earth: CTCI Wins Silver Award for TNFD Report at the 2026 Taiwan Biodiversity Awards

Taipei, July 22, 2026- CTCI's commitment to safeguarding Earth sustainability and biodiversity through its engineering expertise has once again received recognition from the Taiwan Institute for Sustainable Energy (TAISE). At the 2026 Taiwan Biodiversity Awards, CTCI received the Silver Award in the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) Report Award category. The awards ceremony was held on July 22, where Ting-Chuang Li, CEO of Group Shared Services, accepted the award on behalf of the Group.

The recognition acknowledges CTCI's ongoing efforts to integrate both climate and nature into its sustainability strategy. Through the publication of its Climate- and Nature-related Financial Disclosure Report for three consecutive years, CTCI has successfully incorporated nature-related dependencies, impacts, risks, and opportunities into its sustainability governance and operational management.

CTCI believes that biodiversity conservation is not only essential to safeguarding Earth's sustainability but also fundamental to long-term corporate sustainability. In addition to collaborating with partners to accelerate the net-zero transition, the Group integrates biodiversity considerations throughout the entire engineering project lifecycle. Key initiatives include:

•	Green Engineering and Nature-positive Practices: Throughout the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) process, CTCI rigorously implements the four mitigation hierarchy principles—avoid, minimize, restore, and offset—while incorporating biodiversity-friendly design, monitoring ecological issues during construction, and engaging clients and suppliers across the value chain to minimize impacts on the natural environment. 

•	Enhancing Water Resilience: Drawing on more than 40 years of experience in water resources engineering, CTCI continues to advance its biodiversity initiative, "Nature Vitality with Green Water," by developing diversified water resources through water reclamation and seawater desalination projects. These efforts strengthen Taiwan's water resilience while mitigating the impacts of climate change on biodiversity. 

•	Expanding Social Engagement and Citizen Science: Extending conservation efforts beyond project sites, CTCI partners with local communities, supply chain partners, and the public to conduct ecological surveys, remove invasive species, and maintain habitats at locations including Guandu Nature Park, Huang Creek, and Wufen Harbor Creek. Through citizen science initiatives, CTCI continues to enhance public awareness and foster collective action for biodiversity conservation. 

To respond to the global trend toward biodiversity conservation, CTCI actively supports international initiatives. In addition to signing the Business for Nature Call to Action, CTCI was among the world's first TNFD Early Adopters. Demonstrating its commitment to transparent disclosure, the Group's Climate- and Nature-related Financial Disclosure Report was also selected as a TNFD report example in 2025.

Looking ahead, CTCI will continue to uphold its "Discover Reliable" brand spirit while fulfilling its ESG vision as the "Guardian of Sustainable Earth." The Group remains committed to advancing biodiversity conservation and environmental protection, fostering harmonious coexistence between humanity and nature.
