CTCI Sustains Position as Top ESG Performer in the Service Industry by the Global Views Monthly

CTCI Corporation (CTCI) sustains the position as top prize winner for the ESG Award 2023 under Service Industry Category by Global Views Monthly with achievements in fostering sustainability practices with its engineering expertise. Chairman Michael Yang attends the award ceremony personally to receive the honor on May 3.

"CTCI has been deeply engaged in fulfilling sustainability actions with core competencies, holding fast to the principle of "Fulfilling Net Zero EPC Mission through Company-wide ESG Engagement. By now, we have internalized the concept of ESG company-wide as our corporate DNA. We will lead the way for our global supplier chain partners to jointly contribute to the Earth's sustainability" said Michael Yang, Chairman of CTCI Corporation.

Organized annually by the Global Views Monthly, the ESG Award has been known for a lower percentage of award winning and thus higher recognition it symbolizes. The judge panel selects companies with the best performance in environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG) dimensions.

Committed to the goal of being "A Guardian of Sustainable Earth," CTCI wins the top prize in the service industry category with great recognition in integrated ESG performance review.

In terms of corporate governance, CTCI ensures transparent and integrity management, and has achieved stable business growth. In 2022, CTCI's consolidated Group revenue and Group backlog unprecedentedly reached NT$95.1 billion and NT$328.9 billion, respectively. Group contract value remained at a high level of NT$102.5 billion. To ensure continuous business expansion and a more robust global operation, CTCI established a Risk Management Office and appointed a Chief Risk Officer in 2022. This was done to establish a more comprehensive risk management mechanism, enabling it to promptly monitor external changes and respond accordingly, thus reducing operational risks.

Environmental-wise, CTCI is promoting a win-win between the environment and the economy by making investments in developing green engineering projects that covers the three aspects: green investment, green contracting, and green technologies. It works with supplier chain partners in the implementation of engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) projects, hoping to provide clients with value-added "net Zero EPC" projects and deliver faster and better engineering services. Also, it is actively promoting the development of net-zero technologies by serving as the convener of the Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS) Working Group of the Taiwan-US CCUS Industry Promotion Alliance. It joined the Taiwan Alliance for Net Zero Emission and the Taiwan Net Zero Emissions Association, pledging to achieve zero carbon emissions for office premises by 2030 and zero carbon emissions for office and project sites by 2050. To set carbon reduction targets in line with the 1.5°C goal, CTCI is a member of the Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi). Additionally, it formed the Supplier Net-Zero Alliance to contribute to the green transformation efforts in the engineering industry.

As for governance, CTCI is committed to cultivating engineering talents and promoting education on sustainable development. Apart from CTCI University, an online learning platform exclusively dedicated to CTCI colleagues, it launched a free "CTCI Learning" digital platform to pass on professional engineering knowledge and experience for the public, without extra charge. To provide long-term support to vulnerable groups, CTCI has become the first corporate partner to set up a food collection float for Carrefour's "Food Bank" initiative. Additionally, CTCI collaborates with organizations such as Eden Social Welfare Foundation and Syin-Lu Social Welfare Foundation to provide employment services. Besides, CTCI Education Foundation became the 11th admitted observer NGO in Taiwan by The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), enabling the international society to see Taiwan's endeavors in sustainability.

CTCI surpasses other international competitors to ranks among the best, and won various domestic and international sustainability awards, including scoring Top 1% in the Sustainability Yearbook 2023 according to S&P Global's ESG score information; being selected as a constituent stock of DJSI (Dow Jones Sustainability Index) in Emerging Markets category for 8 consecutive years; winning award as the Top 10 Domestic Companies Sustainability Model Award of Taiwan Corporate Sustainability Awards (TCSA) for 6 straight years; ranked among top 5% of the Corporate Governance Evaluation by the Financial Supervisory Commission for 8 times; performs favorably in MSCI (Morgan Stanley) ESG rating; participated the CDP (Carbon Disclosure Project) Climate Change Report; obtained the Excellence in Corporate Social Responsibility Award by the CommonWealth Magazine; clinches Taiwan Circular Economy Hero Award; and recognized with the "Diversity for Better Tomorrow Awards" for performance in diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI).

Looking forward, CTCI will continue to play a good role as "a guardian of sustainable Earth" and contribute to global sustainability through its engineering strengths.
