Greeting the new year of 2019, CTCI is now looking forward to its 40th anniversary. John T. Yu, the Group Chairman of CTCI, has shared his insights on how CTCI has attained numerous achievements in the spirit of breakthrough, self-challenge, and continuous creation on the topic of "Forty Years of Standing Strong & Conquering the World" in the “Outlook” column. He also talks about how CTCI takes a comprehensive approach to CSR in bringing 7,400 colleagues on board in playing a role to build a sustainable competitive edge and to personally undertake the social responsibilities of the enterprise. This aims to maximize the influence of the business and unswervingly strive for recognition as the "Most Reliable Global Engineering Services Provider." In this way, CTCI will embark on 40 more glorious years!

When executing international engineering projects, CTCI is often required by the owner to make a flow-field analysis for the location of the air-cooled heat exchanger, so as to avoid a hot-air recirculation affecting the operational performance. In order to continuously improve execution efficiency of projects all over the world, CTCI entered a one-year partnership with National Taiwan University of Science and Technology in 2017. This partnership between industry and academia was undertaken in order to use computational fluid dynamics (CFD) value analysis software to evaluate the influence of different environmental variables on the air cooler, and to ensure that it runs with the greatest efficiency. This research combined information from CTCI's practical experience, and the standard results can be applied as a reference in planning, review, improvements, and other operations at every stage of project executions. It can also effectively manage and analyze the flow-field analysis results of the contractor. Please see our "Technology" column for details.

A stable supply of electricity impacts people's livelihoods and the development of various industries. Last August, CTCI completed Taichung LNG Terminal Phase 2 Regas Facility & Piping EPC project. Our case study in "Discover Reliable" will outline how CTCI coordinates and integrates complex work during construction. It will also illustrate how the company uses a 3D smart plan review drawing simulation to ensure zero errors of integration and normal operations of the existing system during the integration of the new and old systems. Furthermore, the column will explain how CTCI assists in stabilizing Taiwan's power supply with its "Most Reliable" engineering quality. Given its outstanding construction quality, and its excellent performance with over 721,000 safety working hours, CTCI has been recognized by the Ministry of Economic Affairs with Public Construction Quality Award.

CTCI's projects has been executed in every corner of the world, reflecting a huge supply chain. No matter where its projects are located, "safety" always stands as CTCI's most important consideration. In order to continuously improve occupational safety and health performance and reduce risks during project executions, CTCI obtained international verification in the world’s first ISO 45001 occupational safety and health management system last year (2018). As such, it was the first enterprise to pass this verification in Taiwan. In respect to systems, management, and others, CTCI meanwhile has deepened the recognition of all employees regarding environmental health and safety so as to make this a part of the corporate culture. The international working environment of CTCI provides the best stage for its employees to realize this dream all over the world. Within the "CTCI Family," newly-hired Indian colleague Swapnil Mahajan shares how to overcome the pressures and challenges of international project executions while delivering a work result that satisfies the client. He does so through mutual encouragement among team members, as well as target setting and creative work. Moreover, he found inspiration in Taiwan's beautiful scenery and the precious international friendships he cultivated here. These features of CTCI eased his work pressure and helped him blend in and take pride in being a member of the team within only six months.
