CTCI Thailand: Driving Sustainability Forward

The climate change crisis is intensifying and is a critical issue that needs to be addressed urgently due to its impacts on the global economy, society, and environment. As part of the global community, Thailand must adapt. At the COP26 conference in Glasgow, Thailand officially announced its goal to achieve Carbon Neutrality by 2050 and Net Zero by 2065. Achieving this goal requires cooperation from both private and public sectors.

Thailand is advancing its climate agenda through the upcoming Climate Change Act, set to take effect in 2026, to strengthen greenhouse gas reduction and climate adaption efforts. In alignment with CTCI Group’s Net Zero Initiatives,  CTCI Thailand has pledged to achieve Net Zero emissions by 2030 for its offices and by 2050 for its factories and construction sites. The company has implemented a robust greenhouse gas inventory management system in accordance with  ISO 14064-1, with its data independently verified by an accredited third party since 2022. Verified Category 1 and 2 emissions data for 2022 through 2024.

CTCI Thailand has setup the GHG Emissions Reduction Plan and implemented by replacing with LED Lamp for lighting in the office building and factory, and also installing solar street lighting and solar roof top at factory in late 2023 and operational from mid-2024, with a production capacity of 226 megawatt-hours per year, that equivalent to 113 tons of carbon equivalent per year. 

Reducing greenhouse gas emissions is a shared responsibility that requires continuous action from individuals and organizations alike to achieve Net Zero goals and ensure long-term business sustainability. Therefore, it is necessary to educate and raise awareness among employees, helping them understand the global climate situation, align with organizational goals, and contribute to protecting the environment for future generations.

In 2024, CTCI Thailand successfully passed the Business Governances Standards assessment and received a three-year certificate effective from August 1, 2024, to July31, 2027. With this certification, CTCI Thailand is authorized to display the "Corporate Governance Standards" mark issued by the Department of Business Development (DBD) together with the its trademark, and to use it on official stationery and promotional materials throughout the certification term. To further recognize the company’s achievement, the DBD has included a note to CTCI Thailand’s juristic person certificate stating, "This juristic person has been certified with the Business Governance Standards."

Mr. Thanakorn Malarat, Managing Director of CTCI Thailand, attended the certification ceremony held on September 2, 2024, at TK Palace and Convention Hotel, Bangkok, to receive the "Good Governance Standards 2024" certificate from the Department of Business Development. 

In August 2025, CTCI Thailand was awarded two new projects—PTTGC OCP Project and PELNG OCP Project. These projects utilize cold energy from the PELNG Nong Fab Plant, which was previously released into the sea, to help lower the temperature of the Ethylene (C₂) Recovery unit and Propylene (C₃) Refrigerant system at the PTTGC OLE3 Plant.

To further enhance energy efficiency, CTCI Thailand plans to install a temporary rooftop solar system for at the PELNG OCP project site. The system, with an annual generation capacity of 53 megawatt-hours, is expected to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 26.5 tons of CO₂  equivalent per year compared can be dismantled and reused at other project sites in the future.

To promote environmental sustainability, creativity, and a strong culture of Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental awareness the QHSE Department is organizing a GHG Emission Reduction Plan Contest, inviting all colleagues to participate from October to November in 2025.

In social engagement activity, the HR Department of CTCI Thailand is launching  the "Lehr-Kor (เหลือ-ขอ) Project", employees were encouraged to donate clothing, bags, books, toys, household appliances, electronic devices, and non-perishable food items. These contributions help support children and disadvantaged communities, reflecting the company’s commitment to social responsibility. 

In addition to sustainability efforts, CTCI Thailand also encourages its engineers to contribute their expertise to society. Following the earthquake in Myanmar on March 28, 2025, which caused the collapse of the State Audit Office of Thailand collapsed and damaged several buildings in Bangkok. The Council of Engineers, in collaboration with the Engineering Institute of Thailand under Royal Patronage and the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, called for volunteer engineers to assist in for inspecting affected structures.

Mr. Anusorn, Section Head of Civil and Building Section at CTCI Thailand, volunteered for the inspection work on March 29, 2025, and was later presented with a certificate of appreciation by Mr. Chadchart Sittipunt, Governor of Bangkok on April 22, 2025, at Bangkok City Hall, Sao Chingcha, Phra Nakhon District. 

Beyond their professional duties, CTCI Thailand’s engineers actively contribute to society, serving as role models by applying their technical expertise in volunteer efforts when needed, not limited to environmental protection activities. The company also encourages employees to participate in community service initiatives, helping to create a better and more sustainable world.

Through these initiatives, CTCI Thailand continues to strengthen its commitment to Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) development, in alignment with CTCI Group’s vision of becoming “The most Reliable Global Engineering Services Provider.”
