CTCI MAC’s Sustainability and ESG Actions
CTCI Machinery Corporation (CTCI MAC), a subsidiary of CTCI, has more than 40 years of experience in pressure vessel manufacturing, and has been actively responded to global environment, social and governance (ESG) trends in recent years. By leveraging its parent group’s exceptional interface capabilities from turnkey projects, CTCI MAC has aggressively taken part in offshore wind power underwater component fabrication since 2018. This has not only helped the government achieve its energy policy targets, but also enabled the localization of offshore wind power industries. This article will introduce CTCI MAC’s relevant actions in various aspects of ESG.
Driving Industrial Localization: Participating in the Offshore Wind Power Market
Offshore wind power is one of Taiwan government’s key projects in developing green energy and securing energy independence. CTCI MAC has aggressively taken part in offshore wind power underwater component fabrication. After successfully procuring Yunneng Wind Power’s Yunlin Offshore Wind Farm Transition Piece Engineering Project, followed by CIP’s Changfang and Xidao Offshore Wind Farm Pin Pile Engineering Project, CTCI MAC also signed contract with China Steel Power Corporation to supply pin piles for the Chung Neng Offshore Wind Farm. Owing to its superb welding capability, extensive equipment fabrication experience, and well-grounded quality control system, CTCI MAC has won the trust of the client to get three consecutive wind power equipment fabrication contracts. In addition to establishing a vital role in the field of offshore wind power underwater infrastructure equipment manufacturing, CTCI MAC successfully assisted in achieving the government’s goals of localizing the offshore wind power industry and diversifying energy sources, while contributing to carbon emissions reduction, innovative green economy, and global sustainability. In the future, CTCI MAC will continue to make efforts in securing new offshore wind turbine pin pile fabrication projects, while gradually accumulating track records and experience in the field of offshore wind power and optimizing production lines technologies, hoping to promote localization of offshore wind power supply chains. CTCI MAC is hoping to become the preferred supplier of offshore wind turbine substructures in Taiwan and the Asia-Pacific region, sustaining its position in the global offshore wind power market.

Implementing ESG Principles in Daily Operations through Green Procurement
Taiwanese government has been encouraging engineering labor contractors to implement and declare green procurement. In response to the policy, government agencies are allowed to add Green Procurement Handling Indicators in the Procurement Selection Committee (Evaluation Panel) Selection (Review) Committee Evaluation Form (Selection Items Including Manufacturers' Corporate Social Responsibility Indicators) Template. Bidders can get 1 point if the amount of green procurement declaration in the past year reaches more than NT$400,000 with the submission of supporting documents. Since 2022, CTCI MAC has implemented green procurement, and declared on the green procurement declaration platform of private enterprises and groups of the Ministry of Environment, with a total of NT$13,683,983 of green procurement in 2022 and NT$10,143,094 in 2023. It mainly focused on laptops, desktop computers, office-related supplies such as photocopy paper, tissue and more. The product obtaining green product labels will also be considered as a priority for procurement. If possible, colleagues were encouraged to take high-speed rail on business trips to reduce the use of gasoline vehicles. CTCI MAC knows that through the power of procurement, it can best support the industries that invest in environmental protection, low pollution, recyclability, and the reduction of energy resources in the production process. By responding to the Ministry of Environment’s requirement to promote environmental protection labels for office spaces and green offices, CTCI MAC strives to be a model enterprise that implements ESG principles in its daily operations and moves towards sustainable management.

Expanding Social Participation: Joining Hands to Achieve Sustainable Development
• Partaking in Charity Runs

As a member of CTCI Group, a sustainability pioneer in the domestic engineering industry, CTCI MAC not only internalizes ESG into its DNA and practices in daily work, but also implements it in life and leisure activities. Take the "2024 Run to love ESG Sustainability Charity Run" held at Dream Mall Square in Kaohsiung on January 6, 2024 as an example, as the dawn about to break, many runners had gathered to wait for the grand event of the day; the most eye-catching among them were the energetic and smiling CTCI MAC employees wearing white coats. The Charity Run was organized by Join It Sustainable Tech. CO., LTD. and Lions Clubs International 300E-3 Kaohsiung City Ai Yi Lions Club" (Ai Yi Lions Club). CTCI MAC Chairman Yun-Peng Tan led nearly 100 colleagues and their family members to participate in this grand activity. The activity focuses on implementing ESG principles, utilizing solar energy storage to generate electricity throughout the process, providing paperless electronic certificates, and using environmentally friendly cups. This activity is not only a road run, but also gathers the power of love, conveys care to the families with persistent vegetative state of the Genesis Social Welfare Foundation, and works together to protect the life forms living on the earth. It also educates the next generation on how to care for the earth, and fully demonstrates the enthusiasm and vitality of CTCI staffs. CTCI MAC colleagues can be seen participating in all three categories of this road race: 3K, 10K, and 21K. Additionally, there is a father-son team participating in the 21K half-marathon. This truly reflects how colleagues of CTCI MAC fully embody the ESG culture. Moving forward, CTCI MAC will continue to participate in local public welfare activities, uphold the “Most Reliable” brand spirit of CTCI Group, demonstrate local influence, and contribute to building a sustainable and beautiful future.
• Engaging in Blood Donation Campaign
Donate a bag of blood and save a life! In response to the blood donation campaign in Ren Da Industrial Park, CTCI MAC colleagues came to the blood donation vehicle next to the Service Center of Ren da Industrial Park, rolled up their sleeves to donate blood, gave full play to the spirit of love and help, and fulfilled corporate social responsibility.

• Responding to CTCI Group’s Charity Events
In line with the spirit of “Full Employee Participation in ESG and Achieving Net Zero EPC,” CTCI Group conducted a “Spread Sunshine, Donate Books” campaign, collecting second-hand books and donating them to the Sunshine Social Welfare Foundation. Colleagues from CTCI MAC responded to this initiative, with sustainability volunteers assisting in book registration, sorting and delivery, thereby spreading the heartwarming power of knowledge in society and promoting sustainable influence.

Continuing the spirit of the book donation campaign, CTCI Group upholds the dignity and human rights of individuals with facial disfigurements, burns, and cancer, while advocating for and supporting facial equality. With the aim of spreading love to families in need, CTCI Group organized the “Sustainable Giving: Spreading Love at Christmas” activity last year. On Christmas Eve, CTCI MAC colleagues actively responded to the campaign and pledged gifts for children with facial disfigurements based on their wish list, spreading love across Taiwan and sharing warmth and happiness with the children during the Christmas holidays.
