Towards A Net Zero Future: Grand Opening of 2023 SDGs Asia

As more than 130 nations have set their net-zero emission goals, the world has entered a new phase, which is the zero-carbon economy. To demonstrate Taiwan’s determination to take sustainable actions and transform towards a net-zero economy, the “2023 SDGs Asia” event was organized by the Taiwan Institute for Sustainable Energy with the support of A·SDGs. Themed “Towards a Net Zero Future,” the event drew participants from various fields to demonstrate their contributions to sustainability through exhibition and activities. It is also a way to implant the sustainability DNA into the popular minds. More than 120 participants from the central and local governments, corporations, universities and NGOs took part in the event, while sustainability-related experts and practitioners from around the world gathered to share their views, with the expectation of creating new opportunities for collaboration!

This was the first large-scale exhibition that CTCI Education Foundation (CTCI EF) took part in. For counterparts who strive for sustainability and visitors to learn about our ideals and goals, we walked them through CTCI EF’s milestones and showed them video records of our activities at our booth. We also showcased our annual publications and other sustainable education-related books. People played fun board games that are linked to SDGs (UN sustainable development goals), filled out questionnaires designed to understand their reading habits, and followed us on Facebook. Over the course of the three-day event, nearly 1,000 visitors came by our booth and interacted with us. Through surveys and interactions, we came to understand that issues which the public are most concerned with are the environment (including conservation, resource reuse, and air pollution), climate, and food. They will become the main topics to be touched on in CTCI EF’s 5th book.

A sincere appreciation to everyone who had visited our booth. As a visitor, you not only learned about our foundation’s growth, but also provided great feedback, which benefited us greatly. We look forward to continuing to exert CTCI EF’s social influence and make more ESG contributions!

Staff from CTCI Education Foundation briefed the visitors about the foundation’s work.
