On our path to sustainability, we at CTCI continue to serve as a leading force in Taiwan's engineering development with our own professionalism and core strengths, and are committed to giving back to the society. We follow the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which is set by the United Nations, and identify "application of green-technology, cultivation of engineering talents, and promotion of sustainable engineering and social care" as the three pillars behind our vision of "promoting green engineering and improving environmental sustainable development."

Talent is the most important asset of CTCI Group, and is also the key to the achievements and glory of CTCI for more than 40 years. In addition to cultivating global talents with an international outlook and combat power through the "CTCI University" online education platform exclusive to the group's colleagues, we also set up "CTCI Learning" that allows the public to freely access professional engineering courses. This is a way of sharing the Group's treasure trove of knowledge to make the nation’s  engineering talents more competitive. In addition, by offering opportunities such as corporate visits, internships, scholarships, industry-university cooperation, and campus thematic sharing, we are dedicated to the social aspect (S) of ESG, cultivating more outstanding professional design and engineering talents.

Offer Summer Internship Opportunities to College Students

CTCI offers summer internship opportunities to students from the target departments of colleges and universities, as a way to combine theory with practice. During internship, a CTCI department would appoint a senior colleague to serve as the intern student’s mentor. He/she would explain to the intern student about the job description, operating procedures, and safety precautions, as well as provide necessary training materials and conduct on-the-spot operation demonstrations, so that the intern student can truly understand what he/she needs to do and watch out for.

Besides pre-employment training, the internship also comes with CTCI University digital courses and knowledge database. Whenever an intern encounters a problem, he/she can learn online, accumulate professional knowledge, and become prepared for real job in the future. Moreover, every intern student is required to write weekly internship journal and reflect on what he/she has learned. That way, the company and the department responsible for overseeing the intern student can understand how well he/she has learned. CTCI top chiefs would also personally encourage the intern students and hand them certificates of completion.

Offer Engineering Elite Scholarship to Attract Outstanding Talents

To attract outstanding students from key schools and incubate engineering experts, CTCI offers Engineering Elite Scholarship for master students whose field of study is related to CTCI’s business scope. Students who receive scholarships need to work at CTCI for a few months before their graduation— the number of months depend on the number of times they received the scholarship— and need to begin working full-time for CTCI within one month after their graduation or completion of military service.

Strengthen CTCI Brand through Corporate Visits

To allow students at home and abroad have a better picture of CTCI Group, we would assign senior staff and employees who went to the same schools to share their experience with the students who come on corporate visits. This is a way to tighten their connection and allow students become aware of CTCI’s corporate culture and features. This is also a way of showing CTCI brand and publicity. Corporate visits held in recent years include those from National Taiwan University, National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, National Central University, National Ilan University, Tamkang University, as well as other schools.

Industry-University Cooperation

For many years, CTCI hopes to strengthen the connection between industry and academia through academic-related engineering research or company-entrusted school research and development projects, so that students can be in line with industry practice in advance. Schools we cooperated with in recent years include National Taiwan University, National Cheng Kung University ,National Tsing Hua University, National Chiao Tung University, National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, National Taipei University of Technology, National Chung Cheng University, Wufeng University of Science and Technology, Cheng Shiu University of Science and Technology, as well as other schools. Through industry-university cooperation projects that involve innovation as well as research and development, students could enjoy more study and research opportunities.

Campus Lectures

To allow students connect with the engineering industry as early as possible, we would arrange keynote speeches by senior professional colleagues at university's engineering-related departments, where they would share their practical experience in their professional job field. We would also arrange work experience sharing sessions by outstanding colleagues who went to the same schools, so that students could have an idea on how they want to lead their future careers. In recent years, more than 20 campus keynote speeches have been held in various colleges and universities across Taiwan. We plan to hold a one-credit course called "CTCI Forum" in the second semester of 2021 academic year at National Cheng Kung University’s Department of Civil Engineering. The course will touch upon themes such as international project management at CTCI and practical experience on civil engineering. It will be designed as a short-term, interactive, and teamwork course, so that the students can immerse themselves in a global-scale engineering project and get hands-on experience.
