"Discover Reliable: CTCI's Road to Success as a Top 100 Global Engineering Brand" Book Launch: Tracking Sustainable Development of CTCI

The age of Industry 4.0 has arrived. While welcoming the introduction of smart machines, sustainability development has also become a crucial indicator for enterprises. Since 2015, CTCI has been selected as a DJSI component enterprise for three consecutive years, gaining international recognition. The book, Discover Reliable: CTCI's Road to Success as a Top 100 Global Engineering Brand, jointly published by Harvard Business Review and CTCI, recorded detailed development of CTCI from a small-scale local engineering company to the world's top one hundred and Taiwan's top engineering company, as CTCI continues to progress towards sustainability goals amongst changes.

During the Discover Reliable: CTCI's Road to Success as a Top 100 Global Engineering Brand book launch held on Oct. 26, former Vice President Vincent Siew, Chairman of CTCI Foundation Wen-Yen Pan, National Chiao Tung University representative Vice President Yi-Bing Lin, and Chairman of Taiwan Institute of Directors Paul S. C. Hsu celebrated and witnessed the efforts and results of another exceptional brand gaining international recognition in corporate transformation from Taiwan—CTCI.

Winning Strategy through 40 Years of Development at CTCI
The book launch was introduced by Chairman of Harvard Business Review, Charles Kao. The talk focused on the topic of Sharing the Experience in Facing the Two Great Mountains of Pursuing Profits and Sincerity to explain the two great mountains corporations have climb—the former being the mountain of Profit and the latter being the mountain of Responsibility. Successful climbers may have differing priorities but are ultimately after the peak of the back mountain. Chairman Kao affirms CTCI's effort in implementing corporate social responsibility (CSR), and recognizes CTCI as a model enterprise in its pursuit in conquering the mountain of Responsibility.

Group Chairman of the CTCI, John T. Yu, explained the corporate culture and spirit in upholding Professionalism, Integrity, Teamwork, and Innovation and near-40 years of diligent management that propelled CTCI onto the international stage. Furthermore, CTCI aims at a vision of forming the Most Reliable Global Engineering Services Provider and the Most Reliable brand image. At the event, Chairman Yu affectionately expressed to be fortunate to be a CTCI person, and to dedicate his life to CTCI is a great honor and a blessing. The book Discover Reliable: CTCI's Road to Success as a Top 100 Global Engineering Brand, specially planned and published this year gathers consensus of CTCI employees worldwide, establishes the sustainable management corporate model, and expects to speak for engineering industries in Taiwan at the international stage, gaining global exposure.

Modern Zhang Qian and Ban Chao: CTCI Persons Competing at the International Level
The event gathers VIPs surrounded in an enthusiastic atmosphere. Former Vice President Vincent Siew expressed that CTCI not only is playing the Asian league but is also capable of competing in the world league, and is establishing a benchmark for Taiwan's technical service strength. Under continued support by the government, CTCI looks forward to facilitating increased joint collaborations between Taiwan's engineering industry and major international manufacturers to increase exposure for Taiwan's engineering capacity.

Wen-Yen Pan, Chairman of CTCI Foundation, indicated that CTCI started from oil refining and petrochemical engineering, successively entered the fields of natural gas, power generation, environmental protection, transportation, and photovoltaic, and has formed a comprehensive engineering service group. Along the way, CTCI steadily developed its business. After building its resume in Taiwan, CTCI implemented diversified management strategies and successfully entered the international market, thus establishing itself as the perfect model representative of Taiwan's economic development.

Mau-Chung Frank Chang, President of the National Chiao Tung University, was also invited to pen the preface for the book. Yi-Bing Lin, Vice President of National Chiao Tung University, who attended on behalf of the president, noted the industry-academia cooperation program since July 2016. CTCI, with the help of National Chiao Tung University's research capacity, constructs an unrivaled innovative technology and solutions to achieve smart plant construction. Furthermore, National Chiao Tung University also adopted hands-on operations to verify the feasibility of theories, thereby creating mutually beneficial industry-academia positive-sum results.

The event was filled with highlights. Management master, Paul Hsu was specially invited to guide everyone through the new book. During the event, Paul S.C. Hsu, Chairman of Taiwan Institute of Directors, used insightful management perspectives to analyze CTCI's advantage in professional human resources, organization, and leadership. Next, Paul indicated that competence in turnkey projects is the key to success, and compared CTCI employees worldwide as modern versions of Zhang Qian and Ban Chao, who are unafraid of hardships and overcome strange and difficult environments with willpower, and are thus the men behind the curtain in the internationalization of CTCI.
