From a Village Girl to a Global Dreamer
— Eunike Widya Adinda, Engineering Engineer at the Electrical Engineering Department, CTCI
Could you briefly introduce yourself?
Hi, I’m Eunike Widya Adinda, but my colleagues call me Keke. From a small village to pursuing my career in Taiwan, my journey has been one of growth and discovery. Once a shy girl, I became a trainer during my studies, a team player at work, and a friend to people from diverse backgrounds. Now, as an electrical engineer at CTCI, I remain curious and eager to learn beyond the boundaries of my academic background—whether by participating in new projects or tackling unfamiliar challenges. Technology evolves constantly, and I embrace every opportunity to grow. Beyond work, I enjoy socializing, making international friends, visiting charming cafés, and staying active through workouts. These experiences keep me balanced, allowing me to explore cultures while taking care of my well-being. I believe that no dream is too big for those who dare to chase it, and I continue to push my boundaries every day.
What inspired you to join CTCI?
When searching for a career, I wanted a company that would challenge me to grow while fostering a collaborative and inspiring work culture. CTCI stood out for its strong reputation in engineering and project execution, but what truly attracted me was its commitment to green engineering. After exploring its sustainability initiatives, I became even more excited about joining a company that values environmental responsibility. Now, I can confidently say I’m not disappointed. From day one, I realized that CTCI is about more than just delivering projects—it’s about fostering a mindset of continuous improvement and teamwork. Every challenge I’ve faced here has pushed me to think outside the box. I’ve gained valuable experience and grown rapidly in creativity, all while learning from my colleagues as we support one another and share knowledge as a team.
Which country are you from? What unique cultural aspects or traditions would you like to share?
I come from Indonesia, a country rich in diverse cultures and traditions. A core value that resonates with me is gotong royong, the spirit of mutual cooperation, where people come together to help one another for the common good. Another defining trait of Indonesian culture is being ramah—friendly and welcoming—ensuring that everyone feels at home, no matter where they come from. Growing up, I enjoyed learning traditional songs for the joy of embracing my heritage. This passion for cultural exchange has fueled my excitement for exploring global traditions and connecting with people from different backgrounds.Working in a global company like CTCI has also opened my eyes to so many different cultures. Whether it's learning about new traditions, work styles, or even trying different cuisines, every interaction has helped me grow both personally and professionally. It’s incredible how much we can learn from one another when we embrace diversity.

What is your native language? How many languages do you speak?
My native language is Indonesian, and I also speak Javanese and English, which serves as a gateway to global connections and opportunities. Additionally, I’ve started learning Spanish, inspired by my love for Spanish movies and series. I’m also taking private Chinese lessons, which I must admit, are quite challenging. While mastering it takes time, I believe learning Chinese helps me connect more deeply with people, especially in my work environment. Speaking someone’s native language is a meaningful way to show respect and build genuine connections. Exploring languages beyond my own is not just about communication—it’s about understanding different cultures and embracing new perspectives, making every step of the journey both exciting and rewarding.
Have you encountered any foreign cultures or people that left a strong impression on you while studying or working abroad?
I’ve had the privilege of meeting people from diverse cultures. These experiences have shaped my worldview in profound ways. From my international colleagues, I’ve learned the importance of humility and collaboration, and to embrace values like perseverance, attention to detail, and mindfulness. These encounters have deepened my appreciation for cultural diversity, showing me how much we can learn from one another and how embracing our differences makes us stronger.

Can you share an interesting or unforgettable experience you’ve had while working at CTCI?
One unforgettable experience at CTCI was working on the Ras Laffan Petrochemicals project to build one of the world’s largest ethylene plants. During this time, I had the privilege of working with an incredible team. They were not only highly professional but also genuinely kind and caring. We had many team-building activities, and the atmosphere was always fun and supportive. It was a truly enriching experience to work with such a great group of people, and it left a lasting impression on me both professionally and personally. At CTCI, I had the opportunity to participate in cultural activities organized by HR, which I truly enjoyed. What I love most is how CTCI makes sure that international colleagues like myself feel included. It’s great to be part of a company that values diversity and takes the time to celebrate different cultures, ensuring that no one is left out.
