CTCI MAC Honored with First Place of the Ministry of Economic Affairs’ Public Construction Quality Award

TAIPEI, September 9, 2024—CTCI MAC was awarded 1st place in the Taiwan Ministry of Economic Affairs' (MOEA) 2024 Public Construction Quality Award for its excellence in construction engineering and occupational safety and health performance in executing CPC Corporation's “Talin Tank Farm Pigging Station, Metering Station, and Zone One Utility System EPC Project.” Charles Mai, President of Hydrocarbon Business Operations, received the award on behalf of CTCI MAC from MOEA Deputy Minister Chin-Tsang Ho at the awards ceremony.

This project is part of the second phase of the Port Kaohsiung Intercontinental Container Center Investment Project, which includes the construction of a petrochemical storage and transport center. CTCI MAC is responsible for the engineering, procurement, and construction of the pigging and metering station, freshwater fire extinguishing system, main pipe rack and pipeline, along with three buildings in Zone One. Notably, the pigging and metering station hosted the largest number of pipelines, setting a new domestic record.

The project offers benefits on multiple levels, serving as the pivot for the aforementioned investment. It accommodates the relocation of the CPC Chianjhen Tank Farm, keeping existing power plants operational until demolition after project completion, while addressing the safety risks posed by underground petrochemical pipelines across the city. Regarding power demands, the project ensures the stability and safety of electricity supply in the River Bay Area and meets the future power needs of the Intercontinental Port. Additionally, the project incorporates energy-saving electronic equipment and materials, effectively reducing resource usage during both the construction and operational phases, thereby supporting sustainable development.
