The development of smart technology is advancing rapidly, driving the upgrading and transformation of the engineering industry. CTCI Group's Intelligent Solutions Business has been deeply involved in the application of smart technology in the field of engineering, combining green technologies for energy efficiency and carbon reduction. We have successfully assisted global clients in creating smart plants that not only enhance operational efficiency but also contribute to the realization of the 2050 net zero target by incorporating energy-saving and digitalization capabilities. With the integration of smart technologies and green energy, we actively seize business opportunities in response to the global net zero agenda and the booming high-tech industry. Through the synergy of our three subsidiary companies, CTCI ASI, CTCI REI, and CTCI SEC, we continue to invest in building "green engineering" and "one-stop high-tech services," leading the industry towards a smart and net-zero future with our solid engineering capabilities.
Deploying Strengths in Smart Technologies to Build Energy-Efficient Green Engineering Projects
In response to the global net zero trend by 2050, various industries are seeking process optimization and improved energy efficiency to reduce carbon emissions during production. CTCI's Intelligent Solutions Business, respecting the Group's commitment to sustainable development, prioritizes the adoption of energy-saving and carbon reduction technologies in new plant construction and revamping projects, leveraging our advantages in smart services. By applying intelligent, digital, and automation technologies, we create solutions that combine intelligent solutions and green energy. In the field of green buildings, our most notable achievement in recent years is the "CTCI Group Second Headquarters Building." This project has obtained three major certifications: the U.S. LEED Gold certification, Taiwan's IGB Smart Building Diamond certification, and Taiwan's EEWH Green Building Diamond certification. It has also won the highest honor of the "National Gold Award for Architecture." In the field of renewable energy, such as offshore wind power, we have not only participated in various pin piles and foundation transition pieces manufacturing projects but also assisted foreign clients in designing wind turbine blade plants, continuously expanding our presence in this sector. In terms of circular economy, ongoing projects such as the DAKA Resource Recycling Center, Changbin Industrial Waste Storage and Reuse Facility, and Linkou Water Resources Recycling Center expansion are all significant constructions that benefit the environment. In the original field of refining and petrochemical engineering services, the Intelligent Solutions Business of CTCI Group has also targeted the low-carbon transformation needs of traditional petrochemical industries through the application of low-carbon plant and other green technologies. We specialize in the construction and revamping projects of high-tech specialty chemicals plants, petrochemical oil storage and transportation centers, and have recently achieved success in assisting Sinopec and Formosa Plastics in the implementation of smart plant tools such as SPF/SPID, AspenTech, and other systems and simulation services.
Meeting the Trend of Smart Technologies and Providing One-Stop High-Tech Services
To meet the rapid growth of the high-tech industry, CTCI's Intelligent Solutions Business has swiftly established a track record in areas such as high-tech plants, large-scale data centers, and energy storage through meticulous planning, design, and construction of plants and high-grade cleanrooms. By applying advanced smart technologies, we have been actively developing Digital Twin technology in recent years, promoting the digital transformation of EPC turnkey projects. During the construction of physical plants, we simultaneously establish digital data and build virtual plants accordingly, aiming for the integration of the physical and virtual systems. In the handover stage of physical plants, we are able to conduct digital handover by synchronously transferring virtual plants and related data to the owners. In the subsequent operation and maintenance stage, we provide value-added services of "Digital O&M" to our customers through a range of highly acclaimed digital tools, including "Mr. TIP" production information dashboard, "Mr. Energy" management system," "Mr. CFP" for carbon footprint management," and "Mr. AI" for artificial intelligence efficiency management. These services provide customers with enhanced digital operations and maintenance capabilities, making operations more intuitive and convenient. Services like these are not only applicable to newly constructed plants, such as our recent projects of Versum Material’s factories and cleanrooms, data centers for a foreign-owned business, cleanrooms of Standard Chem. & Pharm., the facilities upgrading project for a foreign high-tech glass manufacturer, baggage handling system at Taoyuan International Airport, and Taipei Metro’s Circular Line stage 2 project. They can also be applied to the existing plants, providing customers with process optimization, decarbonization, and revamping services, enhancing operational efficiency and achieving carbon reduction benefits. Examples of our recent projects include the revamping of a foreign high-tech glass factory and the rollout of ChiMei’s operations management system, both of which serve as excellent illustrations of these capabilities. Moreover, to establish a unique selling point (USP) distinct from competitors and address the increasing importance of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) among high-tech clients, we are committed to creating a comprehensive one-stop service for high-tech/biotechnology factory construction. We further leverage the Group's expertise and experience in various business domains, including recent ventures in high-tech industries, long-standing efforts in waste recycling and reuse (high-tech solvent recovery), energy-from-waste (incineration power generation), and water resources (reclaimed water). By harnessing the synergies within the Group, CTCI has positioned itself as the only one engineering company in Taiwan capable of providing highly integrated one-stop services to clients, successfully capturing significant market opportunities. The future holds great promise for us.
Advancing Technological Capabilities to Become the Most Reliable Provider of Intelligent Solutions
In pursuit of our sustainable business goals and upholding the CTCI's brand spirit of being the "Most Reliable," the Intelligent Solutions Business actively deepens the company's governance culture, leverages the functions of the board of directors, enhances information disclosure quality, fosters a friendly environment, and improves competitiveness. In terms of sustainability performance, we have set targets that surpass the Financial Supervisory Commission's "Sustainable Development Roadmap for Public and OTC-listed Companies" timeline. Starting from 2022, we have proactively conducted greenhouse gas inventories and verifications, with ongoing plans for continuous improvement. The excellent results in corporate governance have also led our subsidiary, CTCI ASI, to consistently rank in the top 5% of the Corporate Governance Evaluation for the past nine years, demonstrating our commitment to pursuing sustainable operation and development. Considering the future economic outlook and industry demands, we will continue to drive the intelligent transformation of the engineering industry through the application of smart technologies. Besides, we will keep strengthening core capabilities in process instrumentation and control, system integration, and intelligent applications to pursue opportunities in new construction and revamping projects in high-tech and biotechnology industry chains. Meanwhile, we will also align with the government's 2050 Net Zero Carbon Emission target in response to climate change by enhancing green technologies, expanding green engineering-related businesses, continuously improving our competitiveness. Our aim is to achieve a leading position in the market as a provider of smart engineering services and stride towards the vision of being the "most reliable provider of intelligent solutions."
