CTCI 2022 New Year Greetings
Wishing a Bountiful Year of the Tiger and Leaping Business Ahead

On February 7, CTCI Group held a joyful tea party at Group headquarters’ lobby to celebrate the resuming of businesses after new year break according to traditions. More than hundreds of executives and colleagues gathered to offer their greetings and blessings, wishing a bountiful Year of the Tiger and leaping business ahead.

John. T. Yu, Chairman of CTCI Group, thanked all staff for their hard work last year, without whom CTCI could not have generated 70.5 billion TWD in annual revenue, 126 billion TWD in new contracts, and record-breaking 322.7 billion TWD in backlogs. He laid out three expectations for staff this year: 1. Gain an upper hand at pricing by offering great value services that meet client needs, such as through digital twin technologies— including digital EPC and digital O&M— and carbon neutral services. 2. Strengthen work safety and quality management; keep CTCI’s prestige intact; and boost competitiveness in advanced technology sector. 3. Fulfill the duty as an engineering leader in Taiwan to drive suppliers towards the goal of “net-zero EPC,” so that CTCI may reach net-zero goal by 2050.

Yu’s speech was followed by CEOs of all group businesses. Michael Yang, Vice-Chairman of CTCI Group and CEO of Group Engineering Business (GEB), remarked that projects around the world are now full speed ahead. He thanked the staff who remained on duty during Lunar New Year vacation. Since CTCI Group is speeding up its expansion process, he expected every group business and project team to improve human resources quality- and quantity-wise so as to bring more flexibility and maximum outcome. All of this should be done without sacrificing the commitment to quality and safety. He also encouraged staff to become more competent in foreign languages, increase personal soft power, so that the company as a whole can stand out from its competitors.

Todd Chen, Deputy CEO of Group Engineering Business and President of CTCI Corporation, mentioned a few practices that exemplify CTCI’s commitment to global sustainability and net-zero goal. Apart from the longstanding total participation CSR excellence practices, CTCI is actively expanding low-carbon businesses, including green energies and energy storage solutions. It supports net-zero initiatives, and has created Sustainability & Net-Zero Office, headed by the newly appointed Chief Sustainability Officer.

Jun-Jer Liao, CEO of Group Resource Cycling Business (GRCB), promised to deliver excellent operations to Taoyuan Biomass Energy Center— the first new-generation energy-from-waste plant in Taiwan— once fully commissioned. He also seeks to leverage Group synergy in the field of solar power to aim for energy storage business.

Kuo-Ann Wu, CEO of Group Intelligent Solutions Business (GISB), brought some good news, as GISB for the first time has signed contracts that crossed the 10-billion TWD mark in aggregate over the course of last year. Now that GISB has been relocated to CTCI Second Headquarters, he expects closer collaboration with Group affiliates to tap into more opportunities.

Ming-Cheng Hsiao, CEO of Group Shared Services (GSS), appreciated the support across all affiliates and branches in Taiwan and abroad in the fight against COVID-19, ensuring business continuity. GSS will continue to devise appropriate strategies as the pandemic develops, as well as improve its services in support of smart business, sustainability, and talent incubation according to Group policies. It will remain “the creator, formulator, and driver of values and institutions” whom all affiliates and branch offices can 100% rely on.

As the tea party came to a close, senior staff members with 40, 30, 20, and 10 years of employment at CTCI were given various types of gold medals by Group Chairman Yu in appreciation of their service. Group Vice Chairman Yang joined Yu in sending little golden ingots to all staff who joined the event. Finally, the tea party ended in chants of celebration by executives from the Executive Committee, who held tiger mascots in hand, and all attendees, wishing CTCI a bountiful Year of the Tiger and endless amount of contracts!
