Cultivating Quality Concept and Promoting Competitiveness Sustainably

With the Quality Objective: “do the right thing, and do it right at the first time”, CTCI continues to run quality serial activities to bring quality concepts into staff’s daily work. This year is CTCI 40-year anniversary. In order to strengthen each Unit’s attention to quality in addition to the annual internal quality promotion and communication activities, Quality Management Department also conducts a series of activities to enhance quality awareness. It hopes to internalize those activities, making the quality concept deeply rooted in all the colleagues. Activities for the whole year include: Strengthen Regulations/Procedures Awareness and Communication, Internal and External Knowledge Acquiring/Sharing, and Present Leadership.
Strengthen Regulations/Procedures Awareness and Communication
Conduct Updated Regulations/Procedures Seminar within the Group Periodically
The Company’s regulations / procedures are the important basis for the implementation of various work for colleagues. Once having any amendment, how to communicate effectively will be an important subject. In order to make each Division / Department Heads and main members of the project understand the reasons and key points of the revision and expected results of Company’s regulations/procedures periodically, CTCI has held Updated Regulations/Procedures Seminar semi-annually since August, 2017. This activity has also been promoted to each Company of the Group from this year. In addition to enabling each Company and each Unit to understand the emphasis of recently updated regulations/procedures, it communicates and promotes the important themes, discussing the difficulties encountered in the implementation of regulations / procedures of projects through this activity. It improves and revises regulations / procedures sustainably, and fulfills the implementation of work to promote Group quality management as well as the effectiveness of project execution.

SOP Knowledge Competition
To raise colleagues’ awareness of various regulations/procedures and catch each implementing point quickly, Quality Management Department held SOP knowledge bank establishment and SOP knowledge competition according to Group regulations/procedures this year. There are two phases for this activity: 1. SOP Knowledge Question Bank Establishment This question bank was fully established in August this year. Group each Company consolidated important rules and usually neglected points from colleagues based on regulations/procedures and audit findings to build each Company’s SOP knowledge question bank and announce it for colleagues to read. 2. SOP Knowledge Competition Based on the established SOP knowledge question bank, it conducts an interesting online answering through GTS system. It invites colleagues to understand the requirements of regulations/procedures through this lively competition. This activity encourages them to participates as a teaming up to participate. Apart from enhancing the discussion of SOP among colleagues, it also hopes to internalize to make it work habits and improve quality of work. This activity was held successfully in October this year. In addition to receiving excellent awards, the winning teams also received the awards from the Top Management.


Internal and External Knowledge Acquiring/Sharing
Quality Lectures from External Experts
External experts are invited to share with us quality management experiences in order to broaden the quality management knowledge of Group Heads at all levels. In March this year, we especially invited the Section Chief Wang Ming Yu from Public Construction Commission, Executive Yuan to deliver a lecture entitled “Domestic Public Construction Quality Issues and Related Policies” at the CTCI Headquarters. Besides detailed explanations of the key points of updated legislation, this lecture also shared the common defects from public construction inspection findings and how to prevent and manage them. The lecture was held in October, inviting Mr. Peter Pu, Managing Director of NE Asia Region of BSI, a well-known international inspection company, to deliver a talk entitled “Follow International Standards for Sustainability”. It introduced how to apply international standard of working procedures effectively, and make the daily management work sustainably and efficiently.


Group Quality Management Experience Sharing
Domestic and overseas Companies of CTCI Group are divided into three Group Businesses, which are Engineering, Resource Cycling, and Intelligent Solutions according to business characteristics, and there is a Group Shared Services to provide overall logistics management and services. Each Company of each Group Business has different business features and scale. In order to promote valuable experience exchanges of each Company, the HQ invites the Heads of each Company’s Quality Management Unit to share innovative quality management tool of the year, effective quality improvement activities, and practical experiences of the project quality management. It hopes to deepen the supervisor's awareness of quality management and make it as the reference of pushing each Company’s management work forward to improve quality and effectiveness of work.

Present Leadership -- Declaration from Chairman/Vice Chairman
To continue the emphasis on leadership of ISO 9001: 2015 to highlight Group’s consistency on attention and support for the quality, Group Chairman/Vice Chairman will announce the declaration to all colleagues to review this year’s serial quality-related events and communicate Group’s requirement and attention for quality on World Quality Day. (World Quality Day is the second Thursday of November each year, and 2019 World Quality Day is November 14th) It hopes colleagues to implement the positive behavior of quality on executing work, continue to increase Group competitiveness, and achieve new level of Group quality.
