CTCI -- Unique and Unforgettable
— Yogesh Dnyandeo Kinage, Process Engineer, Process Engineering Department, CTCI Corporation, Group Engineering Business

Can you briefly tell us about yourself?
My name is Yogesh Dnyandeo Kinage. I have completed my Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering and have more than 7 years of experience. My work mainly involves hydraulics calculations, equipment design, developing PFDs and P&IDs, and safety assessment studies. I am currently assigned to QAPCO Project, Qatar. I am from India, and my home city is Mumbai.
What made you join CTCI?
I joined CTCI in October 2018. After working as a Process Engineer for 7 years in India, I was looking for an overseas opportunity for further professional growth. I was preferably looking for a job in the EPC industry, and at that time, I came to know about a possible opportunity in CTCI. So I immediately applied as CTCI is one of the well-known firms in the EPC Industry. When I was selected for the job, I felt it was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity I could not pass up.
Could you share some interesting experience you had when working in CTCI?
The working cultures of my previous organization and CTCI are very different. Hence, it was necessary to adjust with the working environment of CTCI. However, this did not take much time as I received very good support from my LE, my project team members and my Indian friends who were already working here. While working with CTCI, I received an opportunity to work with colleagues from CIMAS, which I count as one of the good experiences of my life.

How do you get rid of work stress?
Due to the project schedule, working at an engineering company is usually stressful. Most of the time, we have a lot of work with very limited time. So to beat this stress, we often go for a trek, cycling or just hanging out with friends. Taiwan is naturally very beautiful, and when we visit such places, stress automatically is released. We also gain a new experience in life.

Could you give us some examples of Taiwanese culture and its people that impress you?
This was my first overseas job. Previously, I did have some overseas experience, but that was just a short deputation tour at my previous company. Deputation and an overseas job are extremely different things, so working with CTCI was a unique experience for me. When I came to Taiwan, I was a bit afraid about the differences in working cultures and barrier in communication. But when I started working here, all those feelings went away as I received very good support from my LE (Mr. Howie Lo). Furthermore, all people I met in Taiwan are very friendly and supportive. Overall, I must say that working with CTCI and living in Taiwan are unique and among the most unforgettable moments of my life.
