Sketch Our Care for Planet with Paintbrush: CTCI Education Foundation Sponsors 2018 Climate Change Painting Competition
Organized by Taiwan Institute for Sustainable Energy (TAISE) and jointly sponsored by CTCI Education Foundation, the "2018 8th Climate Change Youth Painting Competition" was held as a micro event in Taoyuan International Airport on July 20, 2018. “An Alarm for the World: Environmental Protection and Love for Planet” is the rallying call. Mei-Chen Hu, General Manager of CTCI Brand Management Department, was in attendance on behalf of the company. Along with all guests and student winners, they took part in DIY bamboo cicada painting. Everyone rotated their bamboo cicadas to simulate climate warning sirens on-site. It is an attempt to remind the general public of the issue of climate change, and urge everyone to reduce carbon emission and cool off the planet.
This year's theme is "My Climate Action!" Out of 2,615 submissions from the overseas Chinese in the U.S., Indonesia, as well as 22 counties and cities in Taiwan, 100 are chosen as winners to be displayed at Taoyuan International Airport during the summer. It is hoped that students could all express their care for the planet with a paintbrush, raise awareness for climate change and low carbon footprint, and incorporate environmental protection in their daily lives. Through these creative paintings, international travelers could also feel the importance of climate issues for our students. A connection is then made with the outside world, which will allow for better cooperation in environmental protection.
